Jenny Romaine is a performer, puppeteer and directer who is music director of Circus Amok, and a founding member of the Great Small Works theater collective. She is unable to keep herself from performing on the street. Vehicles for this addiction include the horde of Yiddish spectacle singers and musicians known as the Sukkos Mob, and The Milk Not Jails Campaign. Romaine tours with Copper Henningfield, “world’s greatest magician,” in La Ciudad, The Magic Box of NYC. She makes puppet films, toy theater shows, stages giant pageants with the Aftslokhes Spectacle Committee and others, and teaches in NYC public schools, jails, and at universities.
